It shouldn't be. This sense of foreboding that takes over the appreciation of our moments together is incompatible with the way our eyes communicate the truth. It should stay with me beyond the instances that you look away, it shouldn't take over the aspirations buried within our silence.

It shouldn't imply hesitation when you avoid the classic lines of infatuation for the sake of growing organically. It shouldn't tell me that I'm doing everything wrong even while my instinct has proven me right. It shouldn't belie an end to a reality we sense so distant into the future we might not get there. It shouldn't build an expectation of failure simply because our expectation of greatness goes beyond our ability to reach it.

And yet, there it is, this dark sap that distorts my intentions into a stale mixture of past obligations and forced commitments.

I rest knowing that it's not perpetual and that it vanishes when your silly laughter invades our conversations – laughter that is born out of a sincere intention to believe in what your destiny is asking you not to do. It's asking you not to think, not to want, not to expect, not to divert from a dream you've longed to pursue.

It takes me seconds to decipher the mistakes, the failures, and to recognize where the next failed step will not be.

Because my instinct has been right up until now; and now I must wrestle reality from it and allow my dreams and desires to determine what ultimately is true.

I will. I know I will.

Por acá pasamos juntos; pese a nuestras diferencias, y a la inevitable culminación de nuestro viaje, supimos como medir nuestras diferencias para que no interrumpieran nuestra felicidad.

Me pesa el pensar que por acá nunca pasaremos, sea porque el luegar es lejano, o porque tu compañía ya no es de mi disfrutar.

Aunque ya dejamos atrás los malos recuerdos, aquellos que me llenan de alegría se apoderan de mis montañas de duda como las nubes de aquella tarde soleada de invierno.
